Subway, the U.S. multinational fast food restaurant franchise founded in 1965, has filed two trademark applications for its name and stylized “S” logo, expressing its intentions to enter the metaverse and the world of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

According to the applications the company Metaverse Subway NFT intends to offer.
- Virtual food and beverage;
- Retail store services with virtual products;
- A virtual restaurant environment with home delivery services.
The news was shared today via Twitter by metaverse trademark attorney Michael Kondoudis.

Subway is not alone in taking steps to enter the metaverse; many other food companies have also done so.
Recently, Hooters, Taco Bell, KFC, Burger King, Panera Bread, McDonald’s, Wingstop, Panda Express, Tyson Foods, Carl’s Jr., and others have filed trademark applications to express their intentions to enter the metaverse and offer NFT.
